My Most Anticipated Returning Series of 2014 Fall

Can you believe it's almost a month since school and fall started? It's seemed such a short time, but we're getting used to getting up early again (well, most people, not me), the mornings are getting colder now and the leaves are falling down...and our favorite series are back! Isn't that awesome? Being a major series-binger, for me that's definitely among the the most awaited events of the season. So today, I'd like to share the series I'm excited about the most this year.

Supernatural

air date: October 7
I wasn't the biggest fan of season 9, but I still love Sam and Dean (mainly Sam) and Dean being a demon is a very interesting twist. (Anyway, has anybody noticed that in one or two seasons in a row Dean is "in trouble" and then Sam. Dean, Sam, Dean, Sam.)

Heartland

air date: September 28
I love horses more than any other animals in the world. I love them so much! And Heartland is the perfect horsey and family drama show. It's got horses (duh), action, conflict, drama and meaning. It teaches you a lot about family and love. (And horses.) Plus, as always, season 7 ended with a major cliffhanger.

The Vampire Diaries

air date: October 2
The Vampire Diaries is not even close to what it used to be, but I just can't get out. I'm still interested in the plot enough to keep watching it and with Delena on screen, I'm going to stay glued for a while yet.

Sleepy Hollow

air date: September 22
Sleepy Hollow was my newest series obsession in the spring and I felt like dying when it ended with that huuuge cliffhanger. Like, why does every single series have to have a freaking cliffhanger? Anyway, it already aired this Monday and me, dumb, missed it! Dumb, dumb, dumb.

The 100

air date: October 22
Okay, I'm cheating a little here as I've never seen an episode before. But I saw this on a list and thought "There's a book like this. It must be adapted from it." So I got curious.

And of course, Doctor Who aired in August hence it doesn't qualify here, but I had been just as, if not even more, excited about it at the time. I'm off to catch up with Sleepy Hollow now. Cheers. :)

What are your most anticipated fall TV shows? Have you ever seen/read The 100? If so, did you like it?

Meanwhile, in small town Virginia, Chloe McClellan’s first day of sophomore year was an epic fail. After she becomes the target of the fiery queen of the It-Girls in gym, she gains instant notoriety when she’s struck by lightning. That’s when things start to get weird.

There are disconcerting gaps in her memory, and freaky weather seems to follow her everywhere. She comes to believe that either she’s going insane, or her accident has awoken a terrifying creature from mythology, triggering the final countdown to the extinction of humankind.

Chloe finds unlikely help from a trio of male classmates: the grounded captain of the football team, the flighty stoner with a secret, and the enigmatic transfer student who longs for the sea. All the while, she struggles with the growing realization that dragons exist, and she, and her friends, may be the only ones who can stop them.

In the first book in the epic new Tipping Point Prophecy series, global dragon mythology is reimagined against a backdrop of ecological disaster, high school angst, and the power of the human spirit when working in accord with the elements.

Perfection comes at a price.

As soon as the government passed legislation allowing humans to be genetically engineered and sold as pets, the rich and powerful rushed to own beautiful girls like Ella. Trained from birth to be graceful, demure, and above all, perfect, these “family companions” enter their masters’ homes prepared to live a life of idle luxury.

He’s the only person who sees beyond the perfect exterior to the girl within. Falling for him goes against every rule she knows…and the freedom she finds with him is intoxicating.

But when Ella is kidnapped and thrust into the dark underworld lurking beneath her pampered life, she’s faced with an unthinkable choice. Because the only thing more dangerous than staying with Penn’s family is leaving…and if she’s unsuccessful, she’ll face a fate far worse than death.

Cover Reveal: Mirror X by Karri Thompson

Today Karri Thompson and Entangled Teen are revealing the cover for MIRROR X, releasing in June 30,2014! Check out the gorgeous cover, exclusive excerpt, and enter to win an eARC!

On to the reveal!

Title: MIRROR X
Author: Karri Thompson
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Pub. Date: June 30, 2014

I was born more than a thousand years ago.

Put into a cryogenic tube at age seventeen, forgotten during a holocaust that decimated the world, I've finally been awakened to a more serene and peaceful future.

But things at the hospital are new and strange. And it’s starting to scare me.

Everyone is young. Everyone is banded and tracked. And everyone is keeping secrets.

The cute geneticist Michael Bennett might be the only good thing in this crazy new world where “life is precious” but no one seems free to live it. The problem is, I don’t think he’s being totally honest with me, either.

When I’m told only I can save the human race from extinction, it’s clear my freeze didn’t avoid a dreadful fate. It only delayed the horror…

Exclusive Excerpt!

Michael took a seat on the edge of my bed, rocking me toward him. When the side of my thigh met his knee, my heart rate doubled, and I drew in a deep breath.
“Before you were awakened I spent hours at your bedside imaging what you were like, how your voice would sound, how you looked when you smiled. When your red lips pulsed, when your chest heaved, and you took your first breath, I kept my emotions in check. But now, now that you’ve ‘awakened,’ everything is different. I can’t sleep. I can’t stop thinking about you.”
I ignored the pain and tilted closer until the space between our faces was less than a foot. My heart, my mind, my soul—everything yearned for his affection at that moment.
“I feel the same way, too.”
I closed my eyes, wanting this handsome, earnest guy to take me into his arms and tell me he’d make them let me go. My lungs expanded with his warm breath and spicy scent. When his lips met mine, every atom in my body danced, urging me to pull him closer and tighten my grip upon his back.
His kissing became more fiery and I reacted by kissing him harder. It wasn’t until his mouth moved to my neck, that I came to my senses and drew away.
“Not yet,” I said, scooting away.
“I know,” he said between breaths, rising from the bed. His wiped his forehead with the sleeve of his uniform and returned to the chair. “I can’t…we can’t. We can never…,” he said abruptly. “It’s against protocol. I-I should go.”

17984141I'm so sorry for being late again, but I can't help it. It's not that I'm looking for excuses, because I love doing this, I love book blogging, but the facts are that I'm fifteen, I have school, I have an exam period, I have extra-curricular activities and I'm revising for my first advanced language exam. I'm also commuting between parents and grandparents therefore I don't always have Internet access, either. (I'm gonna work for a tablet during the summer, though.) So please understand that I can't always be here and write a quality post, however, I rather post something worthwhile than something hasty, and faulty. I'm not going to give up though, I post as much as I can and also it's almost summer when I'll have as much time as I need. So please stay. :)

I am tired of being

used, hurt, and cast aside.

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade

ago,

the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected

perished, while many of the children who survived were left with

strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes

went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left

eye

once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an

abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the

way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are

rumored

to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have

mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain

secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.

Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition

Axis, it is his

job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they

destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous

and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret

of all.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This

secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the

Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they

discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.

Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is

the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in

unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal

battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities

that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her

heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.
